SA Digital Connects, a San Antonio nonprofit dedicated to closing the digital divide, announced Rhia Pape as their new executive director Oct. 18.

Marcie Trevino Ripper, policy and data consultant for SA Digital Connects, credits the high enrollment to a citywide campaign that includes partnerships with the City Council, Bexar County, Family Service, Opportunity Home and Frost Bank.

“Trinity University is at a pivotal time where we’re empowering students to focus on the journey and the destination,” Casso says. “I am thrilled to bring my corporate experience and my love for San Antonio to Dr. Beasley’s Executive Leadership Team to impact the lives of our students and community.”

“We’re getting fiber connectivity to the home, to the small business, in areas we haven’t before,” Brian Dillard, Chief Innovation Officer with the City of San Antonio told KENS 5.

"With the federal dollars that are coming down, SA Digital Connects, the city and county will be seeking to bring broadband to at least 50,000 households," Trevino Ripper said.

SADC is implementing the San Antonio/Bexar County Digital Equity Plan and has been working with the BDO to close the digital divide for more than 20% of local residents who do not have high-speed, reliable and affordable internet.
